A good old catch up!
I've had a fab time catching up with everyones blogs and am delighted that lots of us are here.I had another great day today. Being Wednesday, my niece was here today and we had a great time hanging the washing and watering the flowers (two year olds are so easily pleased).Hubby was three hours late home from nightshift (I kept a watch on the time) because they had to evacuate an old folks home after a fire during the night. I knew deep down that he was okay, but the nature of the job does make you say a silent prayer that everythings okay. Thankfully, all the residents were okay as well.
I had a quiet hour to myself, just pottering in the garden while the two year old napped on one sofa and hubby napped on the other. Both were sound to the world, so sound in fact that the little one wet through my newly washed sofa covers (well they did last a whole week). At least with the good weather I got them straight in the machine and out on the line. She was so matter of fact about it and announced that "its okay, its only pee!". Normally, she has lots of spare clothes with her but today there was no clean top so she got to pick one of my daughters. She choose a very fetching pussy cat with a diamonte collar and tiara or ta ra ra as she calls it. As my daughter is ten, the t-shirt served as a full length dress which she refused to take off even when her own clothes were dry.
This afternoon I did the ballet drop off/pick up for daughter and a quick trip to Matalan for some shorts for son. Jeans are no good for a water fight and I now remember that I put most of last years summer stuff in the charity bag (it seemed like a good idea at the time).Hubby made the dinner and the kids played outside until later than usual because there is no school tomorrow owing to the elections. Hopefully they might sleep past seven am tomorrow!
I'm ashamed to say that I have been blogging and telly watching all evening (well, we have another three large easter eggs to get through). It does seem like the waste of a whole night but you know what, I don't care.As we speak, Hubby is inspecting his eyelids for damage and I am going to have a quick cuppa before I turn in (can't promise I won't read a few more blogs before I go).I hope that all you lovely people had a pleasant day and that tomorrow brings another just as nice.
Take care - Jacqui x

Hello Jacqui,
So good that you are with us again, and glad that your hubby is safe. When is his next exams?

I am having a catch up too, the sunshine last week drew me away from the blogs, I missed them, but just did not have time. Good to catch up with you.
I can't believe you still have Easter eggs! The restraint!
We share a favourite film in Into the West (possibly my favourite of all time)....and a love of Celtic music. Lovely to have you here...
